This online marketplace has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's garments without notifying all users about the change. Digital Channels Response Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category versus the original listing due to the recalibration. The platform stated the revised method more closely matches other platforms. The platform has recommended to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Size Classification Modifications Before the change, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Shopper Experiences Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, located in England, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing". "This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Platform Context The app has more than 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: previously, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
